The other day I was listening to Shania Twain’s UP CD. While I was listening, Taylor Swift’s name popped up in my head. Everyone is in love with Taylor Swifts’ genuine, self-written, relatable love and loss songs. I think Taylor Swift has a lot in common with Shania Twain. Shania and Taylor both write music that works for them but still has an artistic edge and a whole lot of attitude. Shania put out original love, cheating, women power, and life songs that are relatable. Taylor’s debut album had a good blend of relatable songs too. Like Taylor Swift, women like Shania and guys want to be with her. Taylor Swift and Shania should do a duet or tour together in the future. That would be amazing.
So to all of you who are new to country music and was drawn into country music because of artists like Taylor Swift, give Shania Twain a listen. If you are a country music veteran, go re-listen to Shania Twain CDs. It will give you a boost and get you ready for the Shania Twain new album release now set for 2009.
