Check out my review below of Julianne Hough’s new Christmas album available exclusively at target. Even though it is exclusive to target, I also found it listed on Amazon. I will put a link at the end of the post. It is worth checking your Target first because I think it is only $7 or $8 there and Amazon is selling it for more right now.
Pros:
This is a cute little Christmas album that everyone will enjoy. I think this would be a great album for kids too. It sounds country but still has a fresh upbeat sound to it. This is a good album to listen to while running around the house decorating, baking, or wrapping. It will get you in the spirit. My favorite song on the album was Julianne’s duet with Phil Vassar on “It Wasn’t His Child/Mary Did You Know.” It is pure beauty. Her versions of “Santa Baby” and “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” are both sweet.
Cons:
I wasn’t crazy about her Feliz Navidad version. It was fast and strange to me. I also had a problem with the length of the CD. #7 on the album isn’t a song (it is Julianne sharing her christmas memories) and #1 is just a short instrumental piece, so you really are only getting 6 songs. I think the album would be better if there was another song or two.
It is worth buying a copy just to get that Phil Vassar duet!
